What Does Signia MaX Cost?

Signia has not announced a price for MaX at any performance level. Any number you find online this month is a guess, a figure for a different platform, or an advertisement. We are not going to add another one.

What we can do is more useful. Below is what genuinely determines the figure, what sits inside our fee, and how to read a quote you have been given somewhere else — because two quotes for the same device can differ by thousands, and the device is rarely the reason.

What moves the number. The performance level matters more than the platform: manufacturers sell the same aid at several tiers, and the gap between top and entry is usually larger than the gap between one maker and another. Then whether you need one aid or two, which your audiogram decides rather than your budget. Then receiver strength and whether a custom earmould is required. Then accessories. And finally the professional care bundled into the price — the item nobody thinks to ask about and the one that varies most.

What our fee covers. The evaluation, the fitting, and real-ear measurement to confirm the aid delivers what your prescription calls for rather than what the software assumed. The follow-up appointments across the first months while your brain adapts and we fine-tune. Cleaning and servicing at either office. The manufacturer warranty administered by us, so nothing gets posted anywhere by you. And a trial period, because nobody should be committed to a hearing aid they have not lived with. Compare those line by line against any other quote. If another practice is cheaper and includes all of it, that is genuinely the better deal and we will tell you so.

The price of being early. Buying a platform in its first weeks costs something beyond money. MaX has no independent laboratory measurement and will not for months. Signia has published no performance-tier structure, no ingress rating, no fitting range. It exists in one shape. Nobody has fitted enough of them to know where the awkward corners are. Meanwhile Signia IX has been externally measured and scored well, comes in every style MaX does not, and gets cheaper as stock clears. On a fixed budget, a verified IX fitting is very often the better use of the same money, and we would say so.

What the research says about spending more. This is the part most practices leave off a cost page. A randomised trial published in JAMA Otolaryngology in 2025 put 245 adults on hearing aids costing roughly $4,400 or roughly $1,100 and found no significant difference in outcome. Earlier work in the American Journal of Audiology reached the same conclusion once the fitting was done properly. Neither says premium technology is worthless. Both say that above a certain point, what you spend matters less to your result than how carefully the device is set up and checked.

Bring us the quote. If somewhere else has quoted you for MaX, bring the paperwork to either office. We will tell you which performance level you have been offered, what is and is not included after the sale, whether the device suits your audiogram, and whether the figure is reasonable for Westchester. Sometimes the answer is that it is a good quote and you should accept it.

FAQ

Helpful answers

Why will you not publish a Signia MaX price?

Because Signia has published none, and dispenser pricing in a launch month is genuinely unsettled. A figure here would help this page rank and would set some readers up for a disappointment we could not honour. Call either office and we will tell you what we can stand behind today.

Is MaX dearer than Signia IX?

At an equivalent performance level, almost certainly, since the outgoing platform gets discounted as stock moves. But the comparison worth making is a first-month MaX with no external measurement against a verified IX that has been independently graded and comes in styles MaX does not offer.

Does insurance cover it?

It depends entirely on the plan. Some New York policies contribute, many do not, and some employer schemes carry a hearing benefit that goes unclaimed. We check your coverage before quoting rather than leaving you to chase it.

Is the top performance level worth paying for?

Sometimes, and less often than the price list implies. It earns its money if you spend a lot of time in genuinely difficult listening and want the aid making those judgements automatically. If your days are mostly quiet, you are buying capability you will not use.
