What Does Phonak EON Cost?
No price has been announced for EON, at any level. Numbers circulating online are guesswork, figures lifted from a different platform, or advertising. Publishing one here would help this page rank and would leave some readers arriving with an expectation we could not meet, so there isn't one.
The tier change that matters. Manufacturers sell the same platform at several performance levels, and the level moves the price further than the choice of manufacturer usually does. Until now Phonak drew that line awkwardly: the network doing the real work in noise lived only at the two dearest levels, so anyone unable to reach them went without it entirely. EON moves it down to a third level, 50 alongside 70 and 90, and puts the new wind-noise handling across the whole range. Among the patients who actually sit in our chairs, nothing else in this launch comes close in importance. Anyone who looked at a top-tier Phonak quote in the last year and walked away should have the sum done again.
What else moves the number. One aid or two, settled by your audiogram rather than your budget. The strength of receiver, and whether an impression needs taking for a custom mould. Accessories — chiefly a Roger microphone, bought separately, and for certain patients the single most useful thing they leave with. Then the clinical care wrapped into the figure, which almost nobody thinks to interrogate and which differs more between practices than any component does.
What our fee covers. Diagnostic testing, the fitting appointment itself, and probe-microphone measurement in your own canal to prove the output matches your prescription instead of the manufacturer's guess at it. The review appointments across the first months while your hearing settles. Servicing and cleaning at either office. Warranty handled here rather than by you and a courier. A trial period. Put those against any competing quote item by item — a figure a thousand dollars lower has usually had the aftercare stripped out of it, and that reappears later as either an invoice or an aid nobody ever tuned.
What being early costs. EON has no independent laboratory measurement and will not for some months. Phonak has stated no ingress rating in the launch documents. There is no custom, powerful or paediatric model on the platform. Set against that, Phonak Infinio has an outside grade of A at 4.9 out of 5, covers the shapes EON does not, and is getting cheaper as stock clears. If budget is the binding constraint, a verified Infinio fitting is very often the better use of the same money, and we would rather say that than sell you the newer box.
Bring us the quote. Been quoted somewhere else? Bring the paperwork to either office. We will identify the performance level you have been offered, spell out what does and does not continue after payment, check the device against your audiogram, and give you a straight view on whether the figure is fair for this county. Sometimes that view is that the quote is a good one, and we say so.
FAQ
Helpful answers
Why will you not print a Phonak EON price?
Because Phonak has published none and dispenser pricing in a launch month moves. A figure here would help this page rank and would set some readers up for a disappointment we could not honour. Ring either office and we will tell you where we actually stand.
Does the cheaper EON level still include the speech network?
Yes, and this is new. Spheric Speech Clarity runs at the 90, 70 and 50 levels on EON, where the previous platform stopped after the top two. What you give up further down is the number of automatic programmes and the fineness of adjustment, not the core processing.
Is EON dearer than Infinio?
At an equivalent level, almost certainly, because the outgoing platform is being discounted. Whether it is better value is a different question, and for a patient on a fixed budget the answer is frequently no.
Can I use HSA or FSA funds?
Generally yes — hearing aids are an eligible medical expense, and they are often deductible as one too. We will provide whatever documentation your plan administrator asks for.
